Brief History
Shree Bal Bikash Samaj Basic School was established on Falgun 7, 2048 B.S. Since its establishment, the school has been providing education to local children and playing an important role in promoting educational awareness within the community. At present, the school serves approximately 70 students and is supported by 10 teachers and staff members.
Before the establishment of the school, children in this area had to walk nearly 10 kilometers through forest trails to reach Budhanilkantha in order to attend school. Due to the difficult geographical conditions and lack of access to educational facilities, many children were deprived of educational opportunities.
Recognizing this challenge, local education enthusiasts and social workers initiated a campaign to establish a school within the community. The school initially began operating in the courtyard of the house of Chandra Bahadur Lama, the founding Chairperson of the School Management Committee. A jumbo tent provided by the then Royal Nepalese Army was used as a temporary classroom. Despite limited resources and infrastructure, the school gradually progressed through the support of the local community, the trust of parents, and the dedication of teachers.
Over time, the school succeeded in acquiring one ropani of land in its own name. Today, two permanent school buildings have been constructed on this land, providing a well-organized environment for teaching and learning. Alongside its physical and academic development, awareness of the importance of education within the community has also increased significantly.
Following the establishment of the school, the number of school-age children remaining out of school has become almost negligible. Today, most families in the community have access to school-level education. The school has made a substantial contribution to literacy, social awareness, and educational development in the area.
In addition to academic activities, the school places strong emphasis on co-curricular and extracurricular programs. Activities such as quiz competitions, spelling contests, drawing competitions, educational field visits, sports week, food festivals, folk dance competitions, swimming activities, and festival-based programs provide students with opportunities to develop and showcase their talents. Furthermore, cleanliness campaigns and social activities help foster discipline, responsibility, and social awareness among students.
The school has also achieved notable success in sports. In the First Municipal-Level Primary FIFA Cup Tournament 2082 organized by Budhanilkantha Municipality, the school participated for the first time and won the Third Consolation Prize in the Boys’ Futsal Category, marking a significant achievement for the institution.
The school operates the Bal Bikash Samaj Child Club, which plays an important role in developing students’ leadership skills, teamwork, and social responsibility. Through various club activities, students are encouraged to participate actively in school and community affairs.
Today, Shree Bal Bikash Samaj Basic School has established itself as a trusted community school that serves the educational needs of local children. The school remains committed to providing quality education, maintaining discipline, and creating a child-friendly learning environment. With a clear vision for the future, it continues its educational journey with the goal of producing capable, responsible, and educated citizens.
