Brief History
Reliance International Academy, originally established as Kapan Boarding School in 2050 B.S., is located at Milanchowk, Kapan, Ward No. 10 of Budhanilkantha Municipality, in the northern part of Kathmandu, Nepal.
The school currently provides education from Play Group to Grade 10, serving approximately 890 students. Mr. Khem Lal Bhusal, the current Principal, is also the Founder Principal of the institution. Over the years, Reliance International Academy has evolved into the parent institution of six other educational organizations. Committed to producing disciplined, educated, and dignified students, the school has established itself as a progressive institution rooted in cultural values.
In 2070 B.S., among more than 500,000 students who appeared in the SLC examination nationwide, Sanjog Karki secured the first position in Nepal, bringing national recognition to the school. Similarly, in the SEE Examination of 2075 B.S., the school achieved the first position among institutional schools in Nepal based on outstanding results among schools with more than 50 participating students. As a result, the institution was honored and awarded by the Government of Nepal, the Provincial Government, and the Local Government.
The institution once again secured the first position among institutional schools in the SEE results of 2079 B.S. and was honored by the Bagmati Province Government. In the SEE Examination of 2080 B.S., the school maintained its academic excellence and secured the second position in Bagmati Province. Likewise, in the SEE Examination of 2081 B.S., out of 102 students, 20 students achieved a GPA of 4.0, 76 students secured A+, and 6 students obtained an A grade.
The institution has also been recognized by Kathmandu PABSON, where five teachers from the same institution were honored. In the SEE Examination of 2082 B.S., 16 students achieved a perfect GPA of 4.0. Among 101 examinees, 94 students secured a GPA above 3.60.
The school follows a unique tradition of beginning every class with two minutes of meditation before academic instruction starts. Meditation is also made compulsory during meetings and seminars.
To promote self-reliance among students, the school operates the V-Star Project. Students who consistently demonstrate outstanding performance are awarded the title of “V-Star of the Month.”
Believing that capable, dynamic, scientific, practical, and life-oriented education is the need of the present time, the school provides creative, practical, skill-based, and confidence-building education.
The primary objective of the institution is to produce disciplined and well-mannered students. Value-based education remains the school’s top priority. Along with providing quality education through experienced teachers, all staff members actively contribute to the care and well-being of students.
The school has established excellent arrangements for various extracurricular activities, including Music, Dance, Child Club, Creative Club, Scout, and Taekwondo. Under the National Trust for Nature Conservation, the school has established a Friends of Zoo (FOZ) Club, through which students actively participate in educational tours and study programs.
To promote a reading culture, Book Review Programs are organized every trimester. The institution prioritizes technology-based education and conducts teaching through Smart Boards. The school is also actively engaged in making teachers Google Certified and ensuring the effective use of IT and laboratory facilities.
Students of Reliance International Academy have consistently demonstrated outstanding performance in national and local-level competitions, including dance, poetry recitation, sports, and book review contests. The school also provides opportunities for students to participate in national and international Model United Nations (MUN) programs. In particular, students regularly participate in the THAIMUN Conference held in Thailand.
